Both Merit and Flaws are optional, but are a good tool to use for character development.

Forgettable - It’s not that you’re ugly. It’s just that, well, people’s eyes tend to slide over you. You’re of average height and build, unremarkable looks and run-of-the-mill dress. People have problems remembering your appearance after they meet you.

Bundle of Energy - You are full of energy. You subsist on five or six hours’ sleep at night, you find yourself unable to stay in bed any longer. You have more hours in the day available to you than most.

Eidetic Memory - You remember, with perfect detail, things seen and heard. Documents, photographs, conversations, etc., can be committed to memory with only minor concentration.

Natural Linguist - You have a flair for languages.

Occult Library - You possess a library of occult materials. You are not necessarily familiar with the contents of these volumes of knowledge (that is a function of your Abilities), but in time of need your library can be an invaluable source for research.

Healing Touch - Normally vampires can only seal the wounds they inflict by licking them. With but a touch, you can achieve the same effect. This applies to wounds only inflicted by the vampire.

Inoffensive to Animals - Animals usually hate and fear the un-dead. In your case, however, animals still respond to you as if you were mortal.

Pack-rat - For some strange reason you seem to have just what someone is looking for on your person. Nothing outlandish mind you, just simple stuff that the average person never seems to have when they need it.

Vulture - You can eat anything. If it bleeds, its on the menu. Why take the time to plan and stalk a human when that dog chained in the yard is only a few quick steps from filling that thirst gnawing away at your gut.

Selective Digestion - You have a delicate palette and select tastes. Perhaps you have a flavor for men or just women maybe even the tender young flesh of an infant? Artists, Chinese, techno-geeks.. all form a unique requirement that may cause you to experience difficulty in finding a meal.

Potent Blood - You are unusually tasty to your own kind, any others that taste your blood will feel draw to do it again.

Glowing Eyes - You have the stereotypical glowing eyes of vampire legend, making it hard to maintain the masquerade.

Deep Sleeper - You find it difficult to wake up during the day, and if you do manage you tend to be groggy.

Phobia - You have an overpowering and irrational fear of a thing or even, such as spiders, crowds or heights.

Soft-Hearted - You hate to see others suffer, either physically or emotionally.

Short Fuse - You tend to fly off the handle and get angry easily

Territorial - You have claimed a certain area as yours, and do not at all like other Kindred being in it.

Vengeful - Someone has to pay the piper, and you plan to collect. You're obsessed with a real or imagined slight, and returning the favor.

Lunacy - The moon is commonly associated with insanity, and it certainly affects your ability to resist the Beast. You will have great trouble not slipping into a frenzy around the time of the full moon, unless your thirst is constantly satiated.

Weak Willed - You have little ability to stand up to people, and are easily forced or intimidated.

Conspicuous Consumption- Vampires subsist on the blood of the living, but you take it a step further and believe you must also eat of their flesh or organs. Needless to say, this is messy, and probably impairs your ability to maintain the Masquerade.

Touch of Frost - Plants die at your approach, and you radiate an aura of coldness. Apart from endangering the Masquerade, this raises difficulty in manipulating mortals.

Repulsed by Garlic - Although the myths about vampires and garlic are inconsistent at best, you are repelled by the smell of it.

Eerie Presence - You have an aura of creepiness that sets mortals on edge in your presence. Most will just shake it off or rationalize it, but those aware of vampires may take it further...

Repelled by Crosses - Most of the time, crosses are irrelevant to vampires (unless wielded by a particularly faithful individual). However, any cross drives you away, and you suffer serious damage if you're ever stupid enough to lay hands on one.

Grip of the Damned- Normally feeding is full of ecstasy and pleasure for mortals. Not with you. With you it hurts as much as you'd expect someone biting into your neck and drinking your blood is.

Cold Breeze - You are followed by a cold breeze, strong enough to stir capes and raise goosebumps on those present. While this undoubtedly is dramatic, it does tend to single you out, and may lead to Masquerade violations.

Beacon of the Unholy - You have an aura of unnaturalness and evil. Clergy (and hunters) can detect this, and know there is something profoundly wrong with you.

Lord of the Flies - You are followed by buzzing insects. Apart from being generally creepy, this makes it almost impossible to sneak up on others.
